Apple Butter Snack Cake
This cake is so easy to prepare and full of flavor. It's a family favorite!
Servings: 8 servings
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 4 tablespoons butter melted
- 1 cup apple butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/2 to 1 cup walnuts could use pecans
Instructions
- In a large bowl whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking soda, salt and nutmeg. Stir in the melted butter with a spoon, then add apple butter, vanilla extract, egg, raisins and nuts to batter. Stir all together and spray a 8 x 8 baking dish with cooking spray. Spread batter in dish and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until the center tests done.
Notes
I don’t use a mixer when making this cake and it turns out fine. You could use a mixer if you want but I like that it is so easy to mix up with a spoon.
