  • 2 Gala Apples peeled and chopped
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1/4 th cup of brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1/2 cup of walnuts
  • powdered sugar for dusting

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In 10 inch cast iron skillet on top of stove, add 4 tablespoons of butter, apples, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar. Cook until apples are soft. Took about 8-10 minutes on medium heat. In separate bowl, combine flour and eggs and mix with a spoon until smooth, then add milk and vanilla until fully mixed.
  • Pour mixture over apples and cook in oven for 20-25 minutes until a fork inserted in center comes out clean. This pancake will fluff up in the oven, but will come down once removed. Dust with more cinnamon and powdered sugar, cut into slices and serve. The bottom will be nice and gooey and the top a pancake.
