Ingredients
1poundsmoked sausagecan use Polish sausage, turkey sausage, Andouille sausage
4cupsfrozen green beans or fresh green beans or 2 15 ounce cans
114.5 ounce can beef broth
2cupswater
3 to 4large potatoespeeled or unpeeled and cut up (can use russet or red potatoes)
1large onionpeeled and cut in rings
1teaspoonminced garlic
1/2teaspoonsalt or to taste
1/2teaspoonblack pepper
2teaspoonsbacon drippingsOptional
Instructions
Combine all ingredients and place in 3 quart crock pot or a pan on top of the stove. Cook in crock pot on low for 5 to 6 hours or high for 4 hours or until the potatoes are done.
Stove Top Directions
Cook on stove top until potatoes are done about 45 minutes to an hour. Makes 6 to 8 servings. Enjoy!
Notes
I usually brown my sausage and onion in bacon drippings on top of the stove before putting in crock pot. It just adds some extra flavor to this dish but it is not necessary to do so. We love lots of extra black pepper added before serving, too.
