  • 1 lb of Jimmy Dean Country Mild Sausage
  • 4 15.8 ounce cans of black-eyed peas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup of chopped white onion
  • 3/4 cup of your favorite bbq sauce
  • 1/3 cup of ketchup
  • 1/3 cup of maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of Liquid Smoke
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce

  • Brown sausage and onion together in skillet and drain grease. Combine sausage with all other ingredients in a casserole dish with lid and bake on 350 degrees in a preheated oven for 35-45 minutes.

Peas have a tendency to get dry, so I do stir this dish periodically while it's cooking.
