Pork Chop and Apple Skillet

  • 6 pork chops
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil I used Canola2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 large apples cored and sliced with peeling left on
  • 3/4 cup bottled honey barbecue sauce
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 3/4 cup water


  • Place flour in a shallow dish.  Mix in salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder. Dredge chops in flour mixture, coating well.  Add butter and oil to skillet and brown chops on both sides.
  • Put chopped onion and apple slices on top of chops.  In a bowl mix water, minced garlic, and honey barbecue sauce with a whisk and pour over chops. Cover and simmer 35 - 40 minutes until pork chops are tender.  Makes six servings.
