This Nutty Apple Bread Pudding is perfect for any gathering! We love it during the holiday season.

6or 7 cups crumbled breadbroken in about 1 inch size pieces

1cupgrated apple1 large or 2 small apples peeled and grated
2/3cupwalnut pieces or nuts of your choice
4tablespoonbutter or margarine
1/2cupevaporated or regular milk
Crumble bread in large bowl and pour the hot water over the bread. In another bowl combine the remaining ingredients except for the nuts and whisk together. Add crumbs and mix well with spoon. Spray a 9 x 9 square baking dish and pour in bread mixture. Sprinkle walnuts over top. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Makes about 8 servings.
Caramel Sauce Instructions
Mix all ingredients in sauce pan and bring to boil on top of the stove. Let boil one minute. Remove and cool. This sauce thickens as it cools. Pour over bread pudding or ice cream.
This sauce keeps well in the fridge and is great over ice cream, cakes, cinnamon rolls. Reheat in microwave before using.
