Banana Beignets

Easy and delicious beignets!

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons white granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 bananas peeled and mashed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cooking oil I use Canola
  • powdered sugar


  • Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon and salt in a bowl.  Add milk, egg, mashed bananas and vanilla extract.  Stir to wet all ingredients with a spoon.  Heat the oil in a skillet on top of the stove until hot, drop in beignet mix by tablespoons, cook on each side until brown.  Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.  Sprinkle on lots of powdered sugar.
