Blackberry peach dump cake is a favorite with my family.

Blackberry Peach Dum Cake

Blackberry peach dump cake is a little different than most dump cakes as I used canned peaches instead of any pie filling and fresh blackberries.  This cake is so easy to make and is delicious.  If you like blackberries and peaches, you will love this dump cake.  Serve with ice cream or whipped cream on top or just plain for a dessert your family and friends will love. This dump cake is good hot or cold and makes a great dish to take anywhere. You might like to check out our recipe for Lemon Fruit Cake, too.

Ingredients for blackberry peach dump cake:

3 cups fresh blackberries (you could use frozen)

1/2 cup white granulated sugar

1 (29 ounce) can sliced peaches in syrup, drained (save 1/3 cup of the peach juice)

1 (15.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix

1 1/2 sticks butter or 12 tablespoons or 3/4 cup, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup pecan pieces (can use walnuts)

Sprinkle sugar over fresh blackberries and stir to cover all the blackberries.  Spread blackberries in bottom of a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.  Drain peaches, saving 1/3 cup juice) and layer peach slices over the blackberries.  Spread the dry cake mix over the peaches.  Combine melted butter, 1/3 cup peach juice and vanilla extract and pour over the dry cake mix.  Sprinkle nuts on top.  Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes.  Can put oven on broil and brown top if not brown enough.  This also brings out the flavor in the nuts.  Makes about 8 servings.  Enjoy!

  1. Patty SHELBY says:

Can I use white came mix in the dump cake?

  2. The amount of butter is confusing. You mean 3/4 cup melted butter, not 1 1/2 cups melted butter- right?

    • The Southern Lady says:

You are so right Erin and the recipe has been corrected. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Hope you have a wonderful day.

  3. Sherry Pendergraft says:

I found that 1/3 cup of peach syrup was not enough to moisten the dry cake mix and when baked, there were still dry cake mix left.

    • The Southern Lady says:

You combine the peach juice with the melted butter and pour it all over the cake mix until it is all moistened with the juice, Sherry.
