Crispy baked chicken breasts

This recipe for Easy Crispy Baked Chicken Breasts is easy in the oven and the chicken is crispy and moist. You can use any parts of the chicken in this recipe. I love that the meat is so tender once cooked.  This recipe makes a quick and easy weeknight dinner or make it anytime you have friends over as a main dish they will love.  You might also like to check our our recipe for cornmeal chicken nuggets.

3 to 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (you can use bone-in chicken pieces)
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup cornmeal
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup butter or 4 tablespoons, melted

Crispy Baked Chicken Breasts
Whisk together the flour, cornmeal, salt, pepper, chili powder and dried basil in a bowl. Put milk in another bowl. Dip the chicken pieces in the milk and then in the flour/cornmeal mixture. Place in a baking dish and drizzle butter over top of the chicken pieces. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 1 hour or until chicken is done in center. Turn chicken pieces about 15 minutes before they have finished cooking. Makes 3 to 4 servings. Enjoy!

  1. was disappointed in this recipe.i followed it exctly.chicken ws not crispy at all,coating came off when i turned over and so greasy i couldnt eat it,gave this recipe to a friend to see how it does for her.love the SOTHERN LADY THO.will maybe try agin,i used an iron skillet.would that have made a difference!!!

      Sorry this recipe did not work for you Tricia. I made mine in an iron skillet if you look at the photo and there was no grease at all when it came out of the oven. Maybe, something with the chicken???
