Ham biscuits are quick and easy and the ham is right in the biscuits.  Just add a cup of coffee, butter and your favorite jams or jellies. I love these biscuits buttered with honey. This is one of my favorite things to do with ham.  These ham biscuits are wonderful for breakfast but are great any time of the day.  If you have leftover ham try this recipe. Your family will love it.  Biscuits are so versatile and I will add almost anything to a biscuit recipe.  A Southern favorite for many years and pretty much always on a Southern table.  You might also like my recipe for Cheesy Apple Biscuits.

Baking Powder Ham Biscuits:

 2 cups all-purpose flour
 3 teaspoons baking powder
 1 teaspoon salt
 1/4 cup shortening
 1 cup milk
 1 cup chopped cooked ham

Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt until well mixed.  Cut in shortening.  Add milk and ham; mix just to blend ingredients.  Turn onto lightly floured board; knead gently 5 to 6 times. Cut out with biscuit cutter.  Place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes.  Makes 12 – 15 biscuits.  Enjoy!

I don’t have any specifically for diabetics. You might find some on the site you can use by checking out recipes themselves. If you look on the right hand side of any page and click on different categories.

  3. Made these for breakfast this morning and there GREAT! And I’m not much of a biscuit maker, so that is saying something. 🙂 Putting this in my family cookbook!

  4. Those look great. We made biscuit sandwiches with our leftovers. And quite a few other things. It’s just the two of us and that was a big ham.
