This recipe for Homemade Buttermilk Ranch Dressing is very simple to make and anything homemade is better. It keeps in the refrigerator for several days. You can double or triple the recipe or cut it in half. It is very versatile in that you can add more or less of any ingredient to suit your taste. We eat lots of salads for lunch and love ranch dressing. You can use the fat free buttermilk and mayonnaise and light sour cream to make it more healthy. This makes a great dip for fresh vegetables, too.
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise or can use Miracle Whip
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons dried dill or could use fresh
4 teaspoons dried chives or could use fresh
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley or 3 teaspoons dried
1 teaspoon onion powder
dash hot sauce (optional)
Whisk together all ingredients. Refrigerate several hours or overnight to let ingredients marry. Makes 2 cups. Enjoy!
