Make Your Own Taco Seasoning5This recipe for taco seasoning is great to have on hand.  You no longer have to buy those little packets, you can make as much as you like and you can use it for many other dishes than just tacos.  I use this on all kinds of meats both pork and beef.  Just sprinkle or rub on the meat for added flavor.  I have used it for meats I am grilling and even sprinkled on eggs.

3 tablespoons chili powder

3/4 teaspoon garlic powder

3/4 teaspoon onion powder

3/4 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon paprika

1 tablespoon cumin

2 teaspoons regular salt or sea salt

1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes

Whisk together and store in airtight container.  This makes about 1/2 cup.

Note:  I use about 2 tablespoons per pound of meat but you can also use it according to taste.  I always double this recipe so I will have available.

    • The Southern Lady says:

If you look under every single post it says to click on the small printer icon there and you can remove the photos and any text you don’t want and print only the recipe. You can also save it to your computer from there.

      • Helen Church says:

The icons you mention are no longer posted on the site; I had seen them on earlier posts but they seem to have disappeared.

      • The Southern Lady says:

They are at the very bottom of each post Helen. Look at the very bottom and you will see a blue F for Facebook, a red P that is for Pinterest and a picture of a little printer and that is what you click on to print the recipe. I just checked and they are all still there on every recipe. If you can’t see them it must be something with your computer. I hope this helps.

    • I missed it too, Kristiane, at first. The printer button is in line with the Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest buttons. It does let one print the recipe with or without pictures — which is a rare choice at cooking websites.
