This week we are featuring some great cake recipes from around the internet just because we like cakes a lot! I love to bake and I love to eat and cake is one of my favorite things to eat!
“Let them eat cake” is the traditional translation of the French phrase “Qu’ils mangent de la brioche supposedly spoken by “a great princess” upon learning that the peasants had no bread. Since brioche was made from dough enriched with butter and eggs, making it more expensive than bread, the quote supposedly would reflect the princess’s obliviousness as to the condition of the people.
While it is commonly attributed to Queen Marie Antoinette, there is no record of this phrase ever having been uttered by her. Read more here.

Chocolate is always good in my book whether it be cake, cookies, pies or candy. Here are some Rules for Chocolate that may make you feel less guilty about eating it.
WEEKLY TIP: Don’t over bake cakes. Remove from oven as soon as tests done. Over baking causes a dry cake. Cook on middle rack in the oven without touching the sides of other pans or oven.
FOOD FACT: The wedding cake tradition began as far back as the Roman Empire.
“Cake is happiness! If you know the way of the cake, you know the way of happiness! If you have a cake in front of you, you should not look any further for joy!”
