These little individual loaves are wonderful served to your guests with coffee. You could also make these for dessert. They are good anytime. I made these in loaves but could be made as a cake or as a big loaf, too.
STREUSEL TOPPING:
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 cup quick cooking oats
1/2 cup self-rising flour
3/4 cup walnut pieces or nuts of your choice
6 tablespoons butter or margarine, cut into small pieces
Whisk together topping ingredients except for butter. Sprinkle on top of loaves or cake, add small pieces of butter on topping.
Bake your cake or loaves in a preheated 350 degree oven 30 to 35 minutes until centers test done. This made 8 small loaves. Pour caramel sauce recipe below over cooled loaves.
CARAMEL SAUCE
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
4 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons corn syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk
Bring to boil on top of stove and let boil for one minute. Remove from stove and add vanilla. Let cool to the consistency you like. It will harden as it cools. Pour over apple cake or loaves. This sauce can be used on any kind of sweet rolls, cakes, etc.
Enjoy!

Oh what a fantaulous idea! I love those individual servings…topped with caramel sauce? What’s not to like? MMMMM!
What a great recipe and I cannot wait to try it!
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. Looks just wonderful.
cannot wait to try this one!
Will it make a 9 x 13 dish? Cooked for how long?
Yes, it should. 35 to 45 minutes until center tests done. (I usually just stick a fork in mine. If fork comes out clean, it is done.)
Yum!!! I’m going to do a trial run this weekend. I think this will be served on Thanksgiving weekend!
We are having a bake sale at church the Saturday before Thanksgiving and thought I might include these. Do they need to be refrigerated for those days in between? Can they be frozen with no problems? Thanks.
Jackie, I think I would refrigerate after a couple of days anyway. They should freeze o.k. but I have not tried freezing them.
Sounds delicious. I’m trying this recipe soon!
