TODAY IS GEORGIA DAY ON THE SOUTHERN LADY COOKS!

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone on my site to Georgia Day! Last week on my Facebook page, I had everyone give a shout out to their state. The state with the most shoutouts got a day on the site to post recipes, jokes, pictures, facts about their state or anything interesting they wanted to post. The great state of Texas had the most members to answer the call on that day and we had a great day honoring their state. We had so much fun, we decided to do it again this Monday with the next state that came in second on the list.  That state is Georgia and today is their day.  We are all looking forward to the Georgia fans showing us a great day on The Southern Lady Cooks.

If you are not a fan on Facebook, you might want to click on the link below and check out all your Georgia friends.  They will be posting recipes and some great stuff about their state.

Here are some links to sites I came up with on Georgia.  If you are planning to travel to their state get lots of information and travel guides at Georgia’s Official Tourism Website.  I found some interesting facts about Georgia for you.

Since I am a foodie and love Savannah, you have to check out the queen of Southern, Paula Deen!

Rebecca Lang is a contributing editor for Southern Living, a cookbook author and from Georgia.  I did a review on her cookbook,  Quick-Fix Southern, homemade hospitality in 30 minutes or less. Rebecca also has a Facebook page.  Click to follow Quick-Fix Southern on Facebook.

Hopefully, this is just a preview of what you will find today on Georgia Day on The Southern Lady Cooks Facebook page.  Click to join us on Facebook!

  1. Well here’s to the great state of Georgia! I will never forget doing my fifth grade geography project, yep, I got Georgis as my state – had to do a large map, and prepare all kinds of info on the state. Since then I’ve always had a proprietary feeling toward Georgia. I mean who doesn’t love Savannah, peach cobbler, and so much more!
