BAKING POWDER-HAM BISCUITS

This is one of my favorite things to do with ham.  These biscuits are wonderful for breakfast but are great any time of the day.  If you have leftover ham try this recipe. Your family will love it.

 2 cups all-purpose flour
 3 teaspoons baking powder
 1 teaspoon salt
 1/4 cup shortening
 1 cup milk
 1 cup chopped cooked ham

Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt until well mixed.  Cut in shortening.  Add milk and ham; mix just to blend ingredients.  Turn onto lightly floured board; knead gently 5 to 6 times. Cut out with biscuit cutter.  Place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes.  Makes 12 – 15 biscuits.  Enjoy!

  1. Those look great. We made biscuit sandwiches with our leftovers. And quite a few other things. It’s just the two of us and that was a big ham.

  2. I agree ~ they look great ! I think there would be way too much sodium in this for me though ; which reminds me….I need to buy some gluten-free pancake/biscuit mix.

  3. These look yummy. Good way to use leftover ham from Easter…Balisha

  4. Judy, we have a boatload of leftover ham from Easter…what a delicious way to use it up!!!

  5. Judy, they look great! I have some ham, and I will try this one. Thanks :)

  6. Made these for breakfast this morning and there GREAT! And I’m not much of a biscuit maker, so that is saying something. :) Putting this in my family cookbook!
