I think this is fast becoming my favorite banana bread recipe. If you like chocolate and bananas, you will love this bread. It makes a great gift for family and friends. The recipe came from Pete and Sherry Coyle of Perryville, Ky. Anytime you have leftover bananas grab this recipe for a sweet, chocolate treat!
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Mix butter, sugar, eggs, and bananas with mixer. Add remaining ingredients except chocolate chips and mix well. Fold in chocolate chips and sprinkle nuts on top of batter. Pour into sprayed loaf pan and cook in preheated 350 degree oven for 60 minutes. Makes one large loaf of bread.
Note: I doubled the recipe and made two loaves plus one small loaf.
I found these little ceramic loaf pans at the Dollar Tree for a dollar
each. I use them to make a loaf of bread, then wrap the bread in saran wrap and put back in the pan and give the bread and the pan to a friend. Makes a great inexpensive little gift.
