GLAZED APPLE COOKIES

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup instant oats
1 egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/3 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 cup chopped walnuts (opt.)
1 cup apples – peeled, cored, finely diced
1 cup raisins
1/4 cup milk
Combine butter, brown sugar, beat until fluffy, beat in egg, add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Drop 1 1/2 inches apart onto sprayed baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 – 12 minutes.
Glaze while still warm but are good without glaze.

Glaze for Apple Cookies
1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
1 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 tbsps half – n – half
Combine ingredients with enough cream to make glaze of spreading consistency. Beat till smooth, spread on warm cookies.
These cookies are really good. Both children and adults love them.

You won’t get hungry before lunch with a good, healthy breakfast.
